The Orlando Magic on Friday obtained permission from Orange County health officials to test its players.

The Magic will most likely reopen their practice facility Tuesday for individual workouts. Before the reopen, the team can now test players and support staff for COVID-19.

In a statement, the team said it would not be taking tests away from any healthcare professionals, first responders or community members who want to be tested.

“We have been assured we are not taking any tests (anti-viral and Coronavirus tests) from healthcare workers, first responders or anyone whether they are experiencing symptoms or asymptomatic,” the statement said.

The NBA season was postponed until further notice due to the coronavirus on March 11. It’s unclear when it may resume, but the league has allowed to teams to reopen facilities if state and local laws allow them to do so.
