But, it might one long one to Atletico Marid fans after the club released a statement revealing that striker Alvaro Morata picked up a muscle injury on his right leg, and should be sidelined for a while.
This happened after their 0-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Madrid derby on Saturday.
According to Cadena Cope, Morata could be out for two weeks, and while he could return in time for when Atletico Madrid play Liverpool in the Champions League’s round-of-16, it could be a big risk to rush him and might still sit out the first leg.
With 10 goals in 26 matches this season, the Spaniard has been the Colchonero’s main striker, and his absence is seen as a big blow for the club.
Atletico is playing Liverpool in Madrid on February 18, with the second leg being hosted at Anfield on the 3rd of March.
