In his own opinion of Fortune Makaringe’s showboating incident, which infuriated his Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart Pitso Mosimane, Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has argued that even one of the best players in world football can be guilty of such.
Makaringe’s grandstanding move when the two sides met on Wednesday night has been much talked about, with Mosimane slamming it and insisting there is no room for it in topflight football. But Zinnbauer had a different view.

“I am not happy about this, (especially) when we have an opponent like Sundowns. I know a player, Ronaldo is his name and he plays in Italy, you know him and he does the same and supporters make the same (noise) and I can’t say ‘Fortune I will change you’. It’s not top, but I cannot stop this,” the Pirates coach told reporters.
Mosimane mocked Makaringe from his dugout and revealed that Fadlu Davids, who is Zinnbauer’s assistant, came and apologised.
“I don’t see this (Pitso mocking Makaringe), sorry. My concentration is only my team. What the other coach was doing, I did not see this. You heard the supporters, maybe (Thembinkosi) Lorch made the same or a Sundowns player, I don’t know,” the German mentor said.
