Firefighters on Saturday night in the adult community of Rossmoor in Walnut Creek killed one resident and forced three other apartments to be evacuated, fire officials said.
According to the Contra Costa County Fire Department, the fire alarm in Rossmoor, with 9,900 residents over 55, was housed in the same building. The victim’s name has not been released. Inspectors are investigating the source of the fire.
According to the information on the site, in the village of Rossmur there are apartments, flats and single-family homes in a community of 1800 acres.
