  • Andre Drummond is the heavy -200 favorite to once again lead the league in rebounding as he did last year
  • Drummond averaged 15.6 rebounds per game last year
  • Drummond has recorded 7424 total rebounds over the course of his career

Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons will be looking to lead the league in rebounds once again this season. His current odds are a heavy -200, and the next closest player to him is the Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid, currently listed at +750.

Drummond is still one of the most dangerous rebounds in the league, and again in 2019-20, he is expected to lead the league in rebounding as the Pistons will push for a playoff spot.

The Favorite

At 6’11, 279 lbs, and only 26-years old, Drummond is a player that can change a game. Since entering the league, the only year he didn’t average double digit rebounds was in his rookie year in 2012-13, in which he only played 60 games and was still able to average 7.6 rebounds a game.

In the past four years, he’s led the league in rebounds for three of them, 2015-16, 2017-18, and 2018-19.

Year Rebounding Average
2018-19 15.6
2017-18 16.0
2016-17 13.8
2015-16 14.8
2014-15 13.5
2013-14 13.2
2012-13 7.6

An old school type of big man with new school athleticism, he is unstoppable under the basket, and casually records double-digit rebounds almost every game, including 18 games with 20+ rebounds just last season.

Anyone Else Worth the Bet?

The difference between Andre Drummond’s odds and everyone else behind him is so significant, that it wouldn’t make sense to bet on anyone else. If Joel Embiid’s odds were a little lower, than maybe he would be worth the bet. But the jump from -200 to +750 is no where near close, making it hard to justify going against Drummond.

If Drummond has anywhere near his impactful season that he did last year, no one will come close to his rebounding average. During the 2018-19 season, Drummond, for the fourth time recorded more than 1000 points, 1000 rebounds, 100 blocks, and 100 steals, and captured his third rebounding title.

He became only the 11th player in NBA history to win multiple rebounding titles.

Don’t Bet Against Drummond

The other players on the list of odds, including Embiid, have not been able to even scratch the surface of what Drummond averages.

Yes, Hassan Whiteside has had games with 20+ rebounds, but he hasn’t been able to do it consistently.

Something that Andre Drummond has obviously been able to do, for not just multiple games a season, but multiple seasons.
