Career Mode has been a longtime staple in EA Sports FIFA games. Even if they were nowhere as intuitive as the likes of FIFA Football 2005 or FIFA 06, players still frequented the single-player mode even to this day.
In FIFA 20, however, it looks as if a true return to form for Career Mode is on the cards. A recent Pitch Notes update reveals several new interesting features that will surely put a smile on Career Mode diehards.

The first of these will be player morale in the form of press conferences and player conversations.
The former sees you as your manager avatar attend pre- and post-match press cons, as any football manager would, and get the chance to praise, motivate, and even criticise your players. Of course, since different players have different personalities, the onus is on your to discover how each player reacts to allow you to refine your response to their individual performances.

The second way to boost player morale is to have 1-on-1 conversations with them. occasionally, players will express themselves via your inbox, and you can choose among a variety of responses with varying tones, depending on what type of manager you want to be.

Speaking of which, managers can now be fully customised. Yes, we’re talking a full character creation screen, complete with varying hairstyles, clothing, and more. Okay, some of you might get a kick out of this, some might not, but the ability to personalise your avatar is still interesting, regardless.

Additionally, there will be 5 different League UI Themes, based on the 5 most popular football leagues in existence (Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, LaLiga Santander and MLS). Some, however, might be puzzled as to why there isn’t one for Calcio A, which is also one of the hottest leagues on the planet. Beats us, but oh well.

Several more changes to Career Mode, such as game balance, dynamic player growth and the inclusion of a 4th substitute in competitive matches (a new rule recently introduced in world football) have also been detailed in the new Pitch Notes.
