Rangers are looking to bolster their squad for next season and will be aiming to get business done as early as possible.Ojo has not played regular first-team football in recent years and was on loan at Ligue 1 club Reims in the season just gone.The 21-year-old made 19 appearances in total and scored once in the Coupe de la Ligue.But Football Insider are reporting that Gers manager Steven Gerrard is looking to bring Ojo into the fold at Rangers.TRANSFER NEWS LIVE UPDATES: FOLLOW THE LATEST NEWS AND GOSSIPGerrard already knows Ojo well from his time as Under-18s coach at Liverpool – the job he had before taking the reins at Rangers.Rangers already have Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on their books as a loanee.Kent was one of Rangers’ standout performers in the season just gone, scoring six goals and registering nine assists.Football Insider also state that Gerrard feels Ojo can be utilised how Mohamed Salah is at Liverpool.Ojo likes to cut in from the right onto his left foot like Egyptian star Salah has done so often for the Reds over the past couple of years.The youngster has been promised game time as well as the freedom to do most of his work from the flanks if his signature can be secured.Ojo cost Liverpool around £2m when he was signed from MK Dons as a 14-year-old.Rangers are said to be among a number of clubs keen on the forward, who looked as though he could leave the club permanently last summer with the under-20 World Cup winner then valued at £15m.Gerrard is also trying to secure a permanent deal for Kent.“We’re doing everything we can [to sign him},” he said.“We’ve spoken to Liverpool, we’re in touch with Ryan’s representatives and we’ve made an offer.“But there’s nothing to say on it or to confirm it.”
