Indian Hills took Redemption Road all the way to the top.
The Braves won the first sectional title in program history on Friday with a 16-5 win over Mahwah in the North 1, Group 2 girls lacrosse championship.
It was an emotional win for Indian Hills, which suffered a blowout loss in last year’s final and rallied around the theme of redemption this spring.
Megan Bohm scored four of her six goals in the second half as the Braves initiated a running clock late in the game. Senior Devin Thompson added four goals, while Leanna Rubinetti picked up two for the victors.
After leading by one at the half, Indian Hills jumped all over Mahwah with a 5-0 run after the break.
Thunderbird senior Deanna Ciliento recorded her 100th career goal during the first half.
